Bake Sales can be a profitable and tasty Fundraiser

Bake Sale Fundraising.

A bake sale fundraiser is an extremely effective way to raise money for your cause or organization. It’s usually fairly easy to get volunteers to bake items for the fundraiser, which means there’s often little, if any, cost associated with coming up with the baked goods that you’ll be selling.

You may also approach local bakeries to see if they’d like to make a donation in exchange for displaying their business cards and/or a flyer on the table during the fundraiser event.

It’s important to hold the bake sale in a location with lots of foot traffic; this dramatically improves your chances of hosting a successful event. You may need to buy, borrow or rent tables and a few folding chairs for those who are staffing the event, so this is an important consideration to keep in mind during the planning phase.

In addition, bake sale fundraisers provide you with a fun opportunity to use a theme for the fundraiser event and the actual baked goods. For instance, if you’re raising money for an animal shelter, you could ask your bakers to craft items with a pet-related theme, like cookies shaped like a dog, cupcakes decorated to look like kitty faces or even home baked pet treats!

It’s also important to remember to spread the word about your upcoming bake sale fundraiser! Set up a website or make an announcement on your organization website; write a press release and submit it to the local newspaper and put up flyers/signs around town. On the day of the event, you’ll want plenty of signs directing visitors to the bake sale.
